Terms of service

Once Books is a tool for creating personalised, AI-illustrated children’s picture books. You provide a story and reference photos; we generate illustrations and let you preview, edit, approve, and export a finished book as a print-ready file, or order a printed copy.

You must be an adult (18+) to create an account, and you’re responsible for what happens under it and for keeping your login secure. Accounts and sign-in are handled by our authentication provider; you’re also bound by their terms where they apply.

You keep ownership of what you upload and write — your photos, story text, and character details (“your content”) — and of the finished books you create.

You grant us a limited licence to process your content only to provide the service: generating your book, storing it for you, and delivering your exports. We do not use your content to train AI models, and we don’t sell it. See the Privacy Policy for how data is handled.

You must have the right to upload every photo you provide. For a photo of a child, that means you are the child’s parent or legal guardian, or you have their guardian’s permission. You confirm this when you upload, and you’re responsible for it — we can’t verify it for you.

How children’s photos are handled, and the limits of what we can promise, are set out on child safety.

You agree not to use Once Books to:

• upload anyone’s image or personal details without the right to do so;
• create unlawful, infringing, hateful, sexual, or harmful content;
• attempt to bypass, disable, or probe our safety and moderation controls;
• resell or misrepresent the service, or use it to build a competing dataset.

We may suspend or remove content or accounts that break these rules, and we report illegal material as the law requires.

Illustrations are generated by AI. We work hard to keep characters consistent, but we can’t guarantee that any particular page matches an exact expectation — which is why nothing is final until you approve it and you can regenerate any page. You’re responsible for reviewing your book before you export or print it.

You can start a book and preview its opening pages for free; you pay to unlock the full book — to download or order it. Prices are shown on the pricing page. Because you can preview a book before you buy, digital purchases are generally final once delivered. If a printed book arrives damaged or misprinted, we’ll reprint and reship it at no cost.

The Once Books platform, software, brand, and site content are ours and are protected by law. These terms don’t give you any right to them beyond using the service as intended.

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don’t warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that generated art will meet every requirement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Jagodana LLC (Wyoming, USA) will not be liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the three months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that can’t be limited by law.

We may update the service and these terms. If we make a material change we’ll take reasonable steps to let you know, and the “effective” date above will change. Continuing to use Once Books after that means you accept the update.

These terms are governed by the laws of Wyoming, USA, and any dispute is subject to its courts, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
